One hundred days of learning,
One hundred days of fun,
One hundred days to work and play,
Aren't I the lucky one?
~ Mrs. McNeill

Elementary schools all across the country celebrate the 100th day of school with dynamic activities and special celebrations.

Elizabeth is celebrating her own 100th day today: 100 days post-transplant, a benchmark date for allogeneic stem cell transplant recipients. Together with her clear PET scan from a few weeks ago, this day continues joyous news for Elizabeth and us all!

Elizabeth: we love you, rejoice in your accomplishments and pray for your continued health! Happy 100th day!

100 days and counting. It seems like both a small number and a big number at the same time. Have a great Christmas and then a terrific New Year! It's the best gift to hear the updates like this one from Katrina.

Last Christmas, Elizabeth put her creative talents into building a gingerbread house complete with a ski lodge and ski lift. I barely had a table big enough to hold her masterpiece.

This year, Elizabeth got even more elaborate. She is creating an ice castle. It is made out of gingerbread and sugar cubes and comes complete with turrets covered in necco wafers and blue and white HAND PAINTED stones. It even has stained glass windows individually made with melted colored candy canes.

She started this project the day after Thanksgiving. My contribution has been 3 dozen eggs, 10 lbs. of flour and I don't know how much powdered sugar and molasses. The work in process is spread from one end of my dining room table to the other and Elizabeth is not yet finished. I have no idea where we will put it on Christmas Day when everyone gathers for dinner. (I hope many of you stop by during the holidays to see it).

And so my wish for Elizabeth, is that she have a wonderful life ahead of her, where she can have hundreds and hundreds of projects that consume her time and imagination and that she gets to share her creativity with hundreds upon hundreds of people both young and old.........and makes the mess in her own house :)

Never stop dreaming and creating, Elizabeth. Congratulations on day +100
All my love, Your Mom

Look at me being the third on the list to comment. What else do I have better to do at 2:40am in the morning than to wish you a Happy Hundredth's Day!!! If I were in school and had to bring in one hundred of something, I would bring in one hundred hersheys hugs and kisses especially for you (and apparently you can use them for your gingerbread masterpiece...please take pictures!)

I love you and so happy you have reached another milestone on your road to recovery.

Let's catch up soon!

Elizabeth - Your Grandmother Bauerlein spoke about her yearning to be a centurion and how poignant it is that she did not quite make it. You, however, did! You are now officially a Centurion. Those of us who love you, and our number is legion, will show you due honor and obsequiousness forever and ever - or thirty-seven hours, whichever comes first! Pastor

I can't believe I'm logging on at this hour of the morning and getting beat out by 4 people - but what good company to get beat out by.
Anyway, our journey to Italy was amazing in part for the renewal of friendships, but the journey that you've been on for the past 100 days is even more amazing because it was a a renewal of life.
Now that you've past this mile marker, here's to enjoying good food, good wine, and most importantly good friends(unmasked).
Love,
Georgette

"Making your own imprint on life implies that you know exactly how to express your own inimitable style". That is an understatement for you ELizabeth. Your style, your imprint both are quite extraordinary. And God is always in those details. May this 100th day bring you to acknowledge God in the details of your life and at the same time provide you with the tools to continue to make your imprint for many years to come.
God bless you with strong and continued health........Love all of us at the Maulen house!!!!

Did you know there are 100 tiles in a standard Scrabble set? I went to Wikipedia to find something clever or interesting about the number "100" to include in my post, but this was the best I could come up with! No matter though, because there is nothing better about the number 100 than the fact that you, Elizabeth, have reached this celebratory milestone of 100 days.

Here's to a new year (and a lifetime) of health, happiness, laughter, and love for you and your whole family!

How many knee deep in snow steps, would Santa be willing to take to give Elizabeth a hug and bring her a candy cane...hundreds. The volunteer fire truck just stopped at the top of our driveway and two volunteers leaped out to direct traffic. Out hopped jolly Santa himself and he stepped many steps down our long driveway and then even more up our unshoveled walk, just to hug Elizabeth. For those of you not from our area, we had just short of a foot of snow fall last night and unlike Elizabeth, Gary and I don't have minions, so shoveling goes slowly. The smile on Elizabeths face was great. Thanks Santa.

Hi Elizabeth. I went to Gburg with you and have been following your progress through Julie's Facebook posts. I want to congratulate you on your victory over cancer over the past years. You really are a hero, and I'm so happy that you're doing well. It's obvious that the girls from Alpha Xi really love you, and you're lucky to have them on your side. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers this holiday season.

Hi Liz,
Sorry I missed the official "100th day" but I didn't check my work email over the weekend. This is normally a good thing, but in this case I missed the big day. Such good news!! Congratulations!!!! I recall Garrett's 100th day and it truly is a day to celebrate. What with Christmas upon us and New Year right around the corner, this is another Christmas miracle. God Bless you, keep the faith. You are a wonderful, strong, beautiful woman!
Love, Marianne and Garrett Semenetz and family.
