Quick update, because when you are planning a TRIP TO ITALY, who has time?
Elizabeth had a clean PET scan last Thursday which means Dr. Ahmed feels she is good to go with the stem cell transplant when we get back from ITALY!!!!
Elizabeth also has a consult with Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston on Monday so she can weigh her options and decide where she wants to have the procedure done when we're home from ITALIA...
Apparently a side effect of VIPER is to shop til you drop; Elizabeth has bought (and I do not exaggerate here) 4 skirts, 6 tops, 3 pairs of capris and a pair of shoes in the last five days. Do you know Elizabeth? Good, then you know shopping is normally, to her, a 4-letter word. Why the clothes? She's going to (sh!) italy.
So in any case, until July 21, try to focus your messages around the following pre-approved themes: gelato, Venetian glass, mozzarella cheese, Michelangelo, pasta and wine (either color); also the new official c-word is colosseum (since Elizabeth likes to see broken buildings that no one uses any more...)
Oh, by the way, we leave next Wednesday for ITALY, so send some buon viaggio wishes and we'll post again (probably from ROMA!)

About time.....and how did I know that Elizabeth would just wait you out Katrina. It's what she does with me and her laundry too.
As for the song...O sole mio???? No, I would have liked "When the moon hits your eyes lika biga pizza pie...that's amore". Now you know why I'm not in the church choir. Waiting to make wonderful memories with all of you in ITALY.

While in Italia, please eat for me:
linguini and clam sauce,
fresh mozzarella with basil and tomato (I don't know if that has a catchy name...),
something you have never ever heard of (don't forget to tell me about it),
