I'm out of here

All right folks. The fever is gone, I'm off the antibiotics, and my doctor says I can go home. I'm ditching this place in the morning. Or maybe the afternoon. Whenever the paper work is finished. I think it's the only time I liked the 8 Am doctor visit.
Of course now we need to pack up the hospital room. I've collected a lot of stuff over the last three and a half weeks. I already sent mom and dad home with some of the stuff. But there is still a ton here. I think I'm going to have to take a nap while they pack up the van tomorrow. Not that its unusually for me to nap during the day. And apparently, fresh air is going to tire me out in a big way.
In fact, Dr Ahmed has sort of restricted my activities fort he next week. I'm not to go anywhere cause he's is afraid I'm going to exhaust myself. I do however, get to see him on monday. Apparently he isn't afraid that I'm going to tire myself out at the doctor's office. Anyway, I'm heading to bed now. I'll let you all know when I'm home.
-Elizabeth

Wooohooo!! Home sweet home! If I understand correctly: if you breathe the air it could harm you, and if you don't breathe the air it could harm you. Oh fun. ;-P Can't wait till you have more energy. Being home where you can complain more freely should be a big help to you, though maybe not so much for your family. Hehehe. My smiles and happy thoughts!

Okay, I can't stand it anymore....so I will leave a comment. Elizabeth is doing well. After being on "house arrest" by doctors orders for awhile, she went back to church (to a clapping ovation, I might add) and even sang with choir on Palm Sunday. But she gets tired very easily and only went to the 2nd service. Stairs really throw her for a loop and three hours of activity, puts her to sleep (and I do mean sleep) for many hours. She is glad to have greens and fruit back on the menu, but some meats don't taste right. She has a follow up PET scan scheduled for two weeks from now and next week, we will meet with an oncology radioligist. Her name is Dr. Kaul and she is in Mahopac...does anyone have any information about her and know about types of radiation, etc? I am busy researching that part of Elizabeth's treatment. She hates when I give out "so much" information, but I know that you are all concerned...especially Phyllis and Julie. So the Bauerlein's wish everyone a Blessed Easter...CHRIST IS RISEN..HE IS RISEN, INDEED.

So glad you're home and hope Fred's been left behind at the hospital once and for all. Wanted to let you know about a website created by a friend of mine who has also dealt with cancer: http://www.tumoriffic.org/

Think you might enjoy it-- you both have, er, a distinctive sense of humor!
