Alright. On to second day of chemo.

Let's just pretend I was good and updated last night. When instead all I did was come home from chemo and slept for 12 hours. It was a long freaking day and I'm glad its over. On to day 2. I should write more but we're running late. So, indeference to those who commented yesterday on a week old post about yesterdays chemo...I'll grant you first post status this time.

This comment is more to give all of you "blog followers" news about today, as I know that Elizabeth is wiped. She did really well today, but this chemo is brutal. They inserted the "plug" into her port at 8:30 this morning and unplugged it at 5:30 this afternoon. It just zapps all of my energy, so you can imagine what it does to hers. But she is doing well and tomorrow morning we're back at WMC for the next round which should be about 3 hours shorter than today. And then one more on Friday which is a piece of cake as it will only last about 5 hours. Keep us in your thoughts and watch for Elizabeth's update as soon as she can.

Hi Elizabeth,
I feel so bad I couldn't go with you today. I didn't think you would want me coughing all over you and the others getting their chemo. I can't seem to shake what I've got. More doctor's today for me. I told my oncologist that I'd rather have a cold than chemo, she was not amused.

You are so strong. You prove that everyday. I really miss you! I've been trying to stay away. Hopefully we can practice our piano duet once more before Christmas! Stay strong. Love, Amy

Hey hey Liz,
Sorry I didn't call last night, but it sounds like you wouldn't have been up for any sort of conversation... or "up" at all, for that matter. Hope it is going well today! See you this weekend!! :)
Love, Erica

Hi Elizabeth
What a week you're having. If good thoughts, prayers, love and concern are measured in numbers, you have them all in the hundreds. Sooooooooooooo many people have come by or called to ask how you're doing (having noticed your need to sit during the orchestra portion of last weeks concert...I was SO tempted to escort you to some seating...I was sure folk could hear my feet screaming in pain from standing on that way too small step I was on, but enough about my discomfort!) You continue to amaze and inspire us all and you are so many times a day in the prayers of the whole congregation.
I truely hope you can "feel the love."

Those are some long days. Keep rested and hope your body is on the upswing as Christmas rolls around and you can post some humorous blog entries about the festivities and your role as mistress of ceremonies.

Hi Elizabeth,
You probably don't even remember me, but that's OK. We were part of your life when you just a kid. I heard about FRED and your blog recently from our son Dave. I started reading from the beginning and I'm still not done. (So...I'm a slow reader - what can I say?)

You are one strong cookie! I'm impressed with all the things that you do - inspite of how sick you get from the chemo. Your sense of humor is marvelous! It will serve you well. I love your attitude too!

I just wanted you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Tell your Mom and Dad HEY for us.

God Bless you Elizabeth.

"She is SO strong!"
"We practiced at four other houses to get it right here!" (Zach)
"It was nice to sing for everybody, but Elizabeth is the best!"
"Do you need a hug?"
"NOW can we sing Jingle Bells?" (okay, maybe that one was just Matthew being Matthew...)

These are just some of the things I overheard while caroling at your house last night Elizabeth. You mean a lot to those youth group members. You'd better hurry back--they miss you.

Hi Elizabeth,

By now (12/18) we're hoping you're through the chemo show, at least for a while, and are doing well. Just wanted to mention that we were at the house of a high school classmate earlier this month, and he was celebrating the fact that he has beaten his own FRED not once but twice now. We know you will too!

Love,
Adam, Debbie & Lucy

Hi Elizabeth,
We are thinking of you and hoping that your ordeal is nearing its end. Keep up your confidence and fighting spirit and tell 'em where to get off. We are sure that Mom and Dad are doing their share of worrying and caring. It's not easy for them either.

Please know that you are being thought of and admired and wished the very best. Make it as merry a Christmas as you can and look forward to better times in 2007.
We are rooting for you and your family. Merry Xmas to all.
